Some reviews of "3 if by air"

"This is a great work of instrumental jazz fusion, lead by the piano player for Ike & Tina Turner, the Platters and such reknown Latin musicians as Chuy Castro, Ray Medina, Oscar Brown Jr. and Sal Marquez. Tenue, Available Space offers an inviting textural dialogue between percussion and keyboard, while Brandon Fields plays powerful sax lines with the serene, romantic trumpet and fluglehorn of Walt Fowler.

The basses of John Pena and Lynn Woolever are well in charge of the syncopations on such tranquil pieces as Along the Way, It's Funny How Things and One Out of Two.

November, December combines an optimistic melody with a fresh, original rhythmic track, dominated by the saxophone and keyboard. In Peas in Our Thyme, one encounters lush, full sounds, rich with imagery.

The title track (3 if by air) is the most pure essence of funk with a Latin flavor, both for the pleasure of the musicians in their soloing, and in the listener's sensibilities."

Ricardo Camarena, La Opinion

"When Jon and I were at UCLA, he was kind enough to take me under his wing and direct me to the best resources. Jon is not only a great keyboardist, he has tremendous compositional gifts. `3 if by air' gives us all a chance to sample them."
